A dynamic and diverse bunch of local Brooklyn art talent, this show displays varying interpretations and mediums of urban influence including: Urban Impressionism – textural “snapshots” that explore the juxtaposition and interplay of man-made and natural surfaces found in modern urban landscapes; nitty-gritty city inspired illustrations and dreamscape photographs shot within this metropolis; decollage of everyday magazine images to almost abstraction inspired by old deteriorating advertisements you see on subway platforms; surreal drawings and paintings that scoff at danger and give you the finger and/or a Muppet; and last but not least, found object assemblage (repurposing garbage into art of course!) And that’s only the half of it..

Hand picked Brooklyn based musical acts are performing during the reception, including “creepy polka” by accordionist Vince Price, punk folk story tellers of the cutest realm, Glittered & Mauled & the phenomenon Yva Las Vegas, who haunts and romances us with her voice and talents on the quatro.

3rdEye asks for a sliding scale of 3-10 dollars to help sustain this urban gallery for the people! Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
